What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine which treats the individual as a whole focusing on mental, emotional and physical symptoms. Prescriptions are tailored to each individual patient according to their specific symptoms.

The kinds of issues I regularly see in practice are anxiety & depression, chronic headaches, digestive issues, skin problems, chronic fatigue, recurrent infections (ear, throat, urinary etc), developmental delays in children, menopausal symptoms, allergies, respiratory diseases. These are some of the more common presenting problems although the list goes on and I have also treated some less common problems with success.

Homeopathy was developed over 200 years ago by a German Physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann. It is based on the principle that ‘like cures like’ (a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used to treat a person suffering with similar symptoms). The World Health Organisation states that Homeopathy is the second most used medical system internationally with over 200 million people using it worldwide.

It is important that you maintain your relationship with your GP during treatment, as homeopathy can work alongside conventional medicine to provide patients with an integrated approach to their health.

If you have a particular condition you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to get in touch.
